What Do Cool Crisp Nights, Shorter Days, Apple Orchards, Pumpkin Patches, College Football, Falling Leaves and Fall Festivals Have in Common with Johnny Blue?
I love this time of year. Saturday, I opened all the windows in our home and let the breeze in. The smell of the cool crisp air combined with someone burning their wood stove and the cinnamon oil in our diffuser help create the perfect Saturday morning. I sat on the couch, wrapped in a throw blanket, sipping on a cup of coffee sweetened with Italian sweet cream (I’m not a pumpkin spice kind of girl) and binged Hallmark Channel’s Fall into Love. What a perfectly divine weekend. The only thing missing was a pot of homemade chili simmering on the stove and fresh baked bread cooling on the table.
With Fall comes pumpkin spice everything, shorter days, leaves turning colors, college football, the many outdoor events, from apple picking to Fall festivals, to pumpkin patches and hayrides. There is plenty to do this time of year!
But what is there to do in this area? I’m glad you asked.
Did you know, on Rt 7 in Berryville, there is a fabulous place called Wayside Farm Fun. September 23rd the open for the season. Not only do they have a pumpkin patch, but they have a corn maze too! And if that isn’t enough there are pig races, a goat walk, pumpkin smashing, a hay mountain, hayrides and more. You can spend all day here and when you get hungry, you don’t even have to leave. Head over to The Feed Trough for a burger, pizza and chicken nuggets. Don’t forget to stop by the General Store before leaving too!
